Thoroughbred show at Kentucky Horse Park to benefit aftercare organizations

The Thoroughbred Horse Show Alliance will host its third annual show on Sunday, May 4 at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Ky., with the proceeds benefitting aftercare organizations in the state.

The beneficiaries for this year’s event will be the Kentucky divisions of the Communication Alliance to Network Thoroughbred Ex-Racehorses (CANTER) and ReRun. The show features a variety of jumping, dressage, and pleasure classes. Entries close April 21.

“We are grateful to all of our sponsors,” said THSA executive director Jan Roehl. “Thanks to their support, we can continue our goal of giving owners an affordable option to ride or hand-walk their Thoroughbreds under actual show conditions. The horses gain valuable experience and fans enjoy seeing horses from the track transitioning to a new career.”

Among the notable horses scheduled to appear at the show is Canadian champion Rahy’s Attorney. The 10-year-old Crown Attorney gelding currently serves as an outrider mount at Keeneland Race Course, following a career that featured 14 wins in 41 starts for earnings of $2,120,208. He was named Canada’s champion grass horse in 2008, with a campaign highlighted by a win in the Grade 1 Woodbine Mile.
