Scott Wells, the president and general manager of Remington Park, was elected president of the Thoroughbred Racing Associations, a racetrack trade group, on Tuesday, the organization announced.
Wells, a former trainer who has been on the business side of racing since 1990, will succeed Chris McErlean, the vice president of racing at Penn National Gaming Inc., for a two-year term. Wells was elected by the TRA membership at a board meeting on Tuesday.
Also elected were Peter Berube, the general manager of Tampa Bay Downs, as vice president; and Joe Wilson, the chief operating officer of Greenwood Racing, as secretary.
