Thistledown: 'Tyler' tries to fire fresh

The Great Tyler could prove to be the one to beat when a field of nine Ohio-bred fillies and mares match strides over six furlongs in the $40,000 Angenora Stakes at Thistledown.

The Great Tyler, a 4-year-old daughter of Doneraile Court, will be making her first start since Oct. 9 but trained well for Miguel Feliciano at Tampa Bay Downs over the winter. She will likely set the pace under Ricardo Feliciano.

Gabrieles Princess is also making her seasonal debut. She won this race last year following a layoff and has been working here on a regular schedule. Gabrieles Princess possesses a high turn of early speed and will contest the early lead. Luis Antonio Gonzalez will ride for trainer Rodrigo Madrigal Sr.

Bubble Dourbon was steadily gaining ground when beaten less than one length in her first start here after racing at Tampa Bay. Stakes- placed twice last season, she is trained by Tim Girten and will be ridden by Jane Magrell.

Kiosk, a late-runner, could benefit from the quick early pace that is likely to develop. Irwin Rosendo rides for trainer Tim Hamm.
