Thistledown: Trainer Sipp appeals 180-day suspension

Email

Trainer Burton Sipp has been suspended 180 days by the Thistledown stewards after a random search of his barn by state investigators turned up several syringes and injectibles at Thistledown last Saturday.

The injectibles were vitamins, according to state steward Darrell Parker.

“Mr. Sipp stated that he was taking them to a farm on his way to Mountaineer Park,” Parker said.

Sipp has appealed the suspension and is being allowed to continue to race at Thistledown, as well as Mountaineer Park and Presque Isle Downs.

I can remember a young tall blond trainer at Rockingham Park in the mid to late 70's. His name was B.K. Sipp. Maybe the same guy now. His winning clip was very high back then.

He's a one-man slaughter house.

Instead of worrying about a trainer who has a winning percentage below 8 and using vitamins, why doesn't Mr. Parker search Nabu Morales' barn and car???? I'm sure his 35-40% winning clip has been done cleanly and on the up and up!

Burton Sipp has a terrible reputation, has been convicted of insurance fraud and shouldn't be allowed any animal.
