Silver Tongued made it a perfect 2 for 2 at Thistledown by winning the $75,000 Daniel Stearns Cleveland Gold Cup on Sunday. Jockey Lori Wydick kept Silver Tongued at the back of the field of nine 3-year-old, Ohio-bred colts and geldings until upper stretch. Trained by Jeff Greenhill, Silver Tongued hooked the leader, Pyrite Green, and the two dueled to the wire, with Silver Tongued winning by a half-length. Pyrite Green was 16 1/2 lengths in front of post-time favorite Plain Ol' Willard, who finished third. Silver Tongued ran 1 1/8 miles over a fast track in 1.52.54 and returned $9 to win.
