Texas Thoroughbred Association summer yearling and mixed sale catalog online

The catalog for the 2016 Texas Thoroughbred Association summer yearling and mixed sale is now available online, with 128 combined offerings.

The auction will take place Monday, Aug. 29, at Lone Star Park in Grand Prairie, Texas, beginning at noon Central. A 99-horse yearling session will lead the proceedings, followed by a mixed session consisting of 19 broodmares and broodmare prospects, eight weanlings, and two horses of racing age.

All yearlings offered in the TTA sale will be eligible to be nominated to the 2017 Texas Thoroughbred Futurity, which is held in male and female divisions at Lone Star Park for an estimated purse of $100,000 each.

Additionally, for every horse that passes through the ring, the consignor and buyer will receive a non-transferrable berth entry to be used to nominate an accredited Texas-bred foal of 2015 that was not offered at this year’s sale to the 2017 futurity.

This year’s catalog features a pair of dispersals, including Lane’s End Texas, which announced Monday that it is closing and will relocate its three stallions to Valor Farm in Pilot Point, Texas, and the first phase of the Diamond D Ranch dispersal. The Lane’s End offerings include weanlings, yearlings, and broodmares, while the Diamond D consignment features strictly yearlings.

Stallions whose first yearlings are represented in the catalog include Alternation, Flashpoint, Justin Phillip, Liaison, and Memories Last.
