Texas Thoroughbred Association juvenile, racing age sale catalog now available

The catalog for the 2017 Texas Thoroughbred Association 2-year-olds in training and horses of racing age sale is now available online, featuring 97 entries prior to supplemental horses being announced.

The auction is Tuesday, April 4 at Lone Star Park in Grand Prairie, Texas, starting at noon Central. A pre-sale under-tack show will take place at the track on Sunday, April 2, beginning at 11 a.m.

“We have almost 25 percent more juveniles in this sale than we did at last year’s inaugural sale,” said Mary Ruyle, executive director of the Texas Thoroughbred Association. “Our sire power has also increased significantly, and we have a strong mix of horses bred in Texas, Louisiana and Oklahoma, and of course also Kentucky, so I think this auction is headed in the right direction.”

Graduates will be eligible to run in the Texas Thoroughbred Sales Futurity, which will take place later this year at Lone Star Park. The race will be split into male and female divisions, each with an estimated purse of $100,000.
