That Tat prevails in Speed Handicap

BOSSIER CITY, La. - Starting highweight That Tat wore down fellow Cole Norman trainee Skin Flint in midstretch to capture Sunday?s Speed Handicap at Harrah?s Louisiana Downs. Skin Flint narrowly held off a late charge from Nuttyboom to hold the second spot. Mama?s Joy tired after chasing the early pace and finished fourth followed by the third member from Norman?s stable, Grand Bank. Rodeo?s Castle and Orphan Brigade were scratched.

Confidently handled by Tracey Hebert, That Tat ($5.20) stalked the quick early fractions set by his barnmate of :21.88 and :44.74 before making his move turning for home. The winner drew clear to win by three and three quarter lengths in a time of 1:09.66 over fast footing.

The win was That Tat?s 16th of his 48 race career and his second stakes win of the year. The 7-year-old Oklahoma-bred son of Fallant has now earned $560,000 for owner Ken Murphy Thoroughbreds.
