Tasty Temptation, with Patrick Husbands up and blinkers off, wins the Wonder Where over First Circle on the soft Woodbine turf.

Tasty Temptation ($6.10) managed best under testing conditions Saturday at Woodbine in the $251,600 Wonder Where Stakes, the final leg of the Canadian triple tiara for Canadian-bred 3-year-old fillies.

The 1 1/4-mile route was run over soft ground, and Gore Bay set very slow fractions while being pressed by 33-1 shot First Circle. Tasty Temptation raced near the back of the nine-horse field on the backstretch, and she commenced an inside rally at the head of the stretch.

Tasty Temptation caught First Circle at the sixteenth pole, and went on to score by a half-length in a time of 2:10.81. Forest Uproar wound up third, and favored Miss Blakely finished fifth.

Trainer Mark Casse took the blinkers off Tasty Temptation, which enabled her to relax more than usual, according to jockey Patrick Husbands.

"Fortunately, when she left the gate, she was relaxed off the bridle," said Husbands. "I was happy about that. With no blinkers on today, I was on a different horse."

It was the first stakes victory Tasty Temptation, who earned $150,000 for Woodford Racing.- Ron Gierkink
