Magic Hour won the $50,000 Wayward Lass by a length for her third career victory.

OLDSMAR, Fla. – Magic Hour took the lead when Sister Earth broke down after a half-mile in the $50,000 Wayward Lass, then turned back challenges from the quarter pole home to register a hard-earned, one-length victory in the 29th running of the 1 1/16-mile fixture for fillies and mares.

Under a well-judged ride by veteran Ronnie Allen, who got his fourth win of the afternoon, Magic Hour covered the distance over a fast racing strip in 1:45.48 to earn the third win of her career. Trained by Ian Wilkes, Magic Hour returned $14.60 as the fourth choice in the field of eight and earned $30,000 for her effort.

Fire Assay challenged along the rail in the drive and managed to draw almost even with Magic Hour inside the final furlong before just hanging. Fire Assay held on well to save the place by a neck over I LIke It, with Action Lady fourth. The favored Awesome Belle faded after five furlongs to finish seventh.

Sister Earth, who led early, broke down after a half-mile and was vanned off.
