OLDSMAR, Fla. - Prominent from the outset, favored Action Andy took the lead into the stretch, then drew off to post a 2 1/2-length victory in the $75,000 Super Stakes on Saturday at Tampa Bay Downs.
Jockey Daniel Coa contributed a well-timed ride aboard the betting favorite. Action Andy was content to sit just off early leader Tommy's Memory as that one cut out early fractions of 22.85 and 45.90 seconds. Action Andy moved to the front into the stretch and quickly opened a 2 1/2-length lead with a furlong to go before cruising home late for his second straight win over the Tampa strip.
Watch Me Go, making his first start as a 4-year-old, outgamed Gold Strike Begins and Good Lord for the place after racing wide through much of his first start since last August.
Gold Strike Begins was a nose behind Watch Me Go with Good Lord a neck further back in fourth.
Action Andy ($3.80) covered the seven furlongs over a fast but dull and drying out racing strip in 1:23.22 and earned $35,000. The win increased his career earnings to $192,670.
Trainer Carlos Garcia saddled the winner for his second victory on the program.

WILCOX went five-wide on the first turn en route to a nine-length loss when he debuted around two turns on the Polytrack. The son of the highly successful Giant's Causeway is a half-brother to the stakes-placed turf expert Woodbourne. He should make some noise for an accomplished second-out trainer, who's enlisted a hot Stein for the mount. ATTENDANT was a minor player on the grass at the Fair Grounds, before trailing in a small field in the Wando Stakes here on the Poly. AIR BLADE regressed off his big comeback race most recently.
