As of 5 p.m. Eastern on Tuesday, an $85,000 filly by Tale of the Cat was leading the second and final session of the Fasig-Tipton Texas summer yearling sale at Lone Star Park near Dallas.

The filly, purchased by Stonerside Stable, is out of the stakes-winning mare Winthrop Arms, making her a half-sister to Valarone, a stakes winner of $277,548, and Armed and Ready, a stakes-placed winner of $172,043.

The filly was consigned by Highclere Sales.

During the opening session Monday, a Wild Zone colt and a Silver Charm colt topped the day at $60,000 each. Diamond G Ranch purchased the Wild Zone colt, a full brother to 2-year-old stakes winner Wild Hits, while Assault Stables bought the Silver Charm colt, who is out of the Topsider mare Liz Cee, a stakes winner of $212,802.

Overall on Monday, 129 yearlings sold for $1,338,100, or an average of $10,373. Another 65 yearlings were not sold. Unlike last year, there was no select session Monday.
