Take Charge Brandi had a pin placed in her right knee to help it heal.

Champion Take Charge Brandi on Thursday had a pin placed in her right knee to accelerate the healing process from a non-displaced bone chip, trainer D. Wayne Lukas said Friday. The trainer said the procedure was successful and there was no cartilage damage.

Take Charge Brandi is in Kentucky at Rood and Riddle equine hospital and will likely return to Oaklawn on Saturday or Sunday, said Lukas. The trainer said she would have 30 days of stall rest, then 30 days of hand walking before resuming training May 15.

Lukas is pointing her to the Belmont Stakes for her first start back.

She can't run there!! You need at least 1 kentucky derby qualifying point to run in Belmont stakes!! Last year commissioner had 13, tonalist had 20, California chrome had over 120, metusak had 4, commanding curve had a little, medal count had a bunch as he ran in kentucky derby, general A rod had a bunch as he ran in derby, ride on curlin had a bunch as he ran in derby, Sam rat and wicked strong had a bunch as they ran well in derby.

"The trainer said"... Keep her for a broodmare and away from Lukas.

Why not just turn her out on a Kentucky Farm for 30 days first, then ship her back to where ever you need to go. She just had the procedure done, and she going to be shipped a few days later?

I'll bet she'd like more than a few days to rest before being on a plane and van, standing and balancing for hours on end :(

She should be retired and rested! If you race her, you risk breaking her leg, and therefore, euthanized.

If Lukas still wants TCB to face the boys, She may be ready for The Haskell, or even The Travers later this summer.
