Grade 1 winner Swagger Jack has been purchased by RisenStorm Thoroughbreds and will stand the 2015 breeding season at Nicks Farm in Sellersburg, Ind., for an advertised fee of $2,500.

The 6-year-old Smart Strike horse stood his debut season in 2014 at Millennium Farms in Lexington, Ky., for a fee of $7,500.

Bred in Virginia by the late Edward P. Evans, Swagger Jack won 5 of 18 starts for earnings of $460,519, highlighted by a win in the Grade 1 Carter Handicap at Aqueduct in 2013. He also turned in runner-up efforts that year in the Grade 2 Gulfstream Park Handicap and the Grade 3 Gulfstream Park Sprint Championship Stakes. He was campaigned during his on-track career by Silverton Hill.

Swagger Jack is out of the unraced The Minstrel mare Lyrical Prayer, herself a product of the Evans breeding program, whose 11 winners from 14 runners also include Grade 2 winner Tap Dance; stakes winner Grand Prayer; and stakes-placed Point Missed, Pleasant Lyrics, and Lyrical Ghost.

The stallion’s extended family includes champion Silent Screen; Grade 1 winner Malibu Prayer; Grade 2 winner Valid; and Grade 3 winners Belladora, Good Game, Global View, Lager, Million Dollar Run, and With Flair.
