Supreme Leader, stallion, dead

Supreme Leader (Bustino-Princess Zena, by Habitat), one of Britain and Ireland's top National Hunt sires, died of a heart attack last Friday at age 20 after covering a mare in County Tipperary, Ireland, according to the Racing Post. The stallion, sire of 2001 Cheltenham Gold Cup winner and 2002 Grand National runner-up What's Up Boys, stood for the Coolmore Stud conglomerate and was one of the sport's busiest stallions, covering an average of 244 mares a year from 1988 to 2001.
