SunRay: Speedster back

Sea Ola Go takes on nine rivals in the $50,000 La Plata Stakes at SunRay Park. The La Plata, at 400 yards, is the ninth of 10 races on the card, which starts at 2:15 p.m. Mountain time.

The 4-year-old Sea Ola Go was a ridden-out winner last out at

350 yards in her first start in two years at a recognized track. Owner-trainer Alonso Orozco bought Sea Ola Go, an Ought to be First filly, two years ago and took her to his native Mexico, where she participated in match races, winning several. She has won three of four starts in the United States but this will be her first try at 400 yards. Esgar Ramirez gets the return call.

Heavenly Trip may get the favoritism, however. A Splash Bac filly, she will be trying to snap a three-race spell of seconditis in stakes company. She last started on April 13 in the New Mexico Challenge Championship, a Grade 1 event at Sunland Park. Joe Martinez will be aboard Heavenly Trip on Sunday.
