Sunny Ridge, the winner of the Grade 3 Withers at Aqueduct in January, is back in training, according to his owner and breeder, Dennis Drazin, and will be pointed to the Grade 1 Haskell Invitational at Monmouth Park on July 31.

Sunny Ridge, a gelded New Jersey-bred by Holy Bull, won the Sapling Stakes at Monmouth last summer and was second in the Grade 1 Champagne and Grade 3 Delta Jackpot prior to the Withers.

Sunny Ridge finished fourth in his most recent start, the Grade 3 Gotham in early March. He was taken out of training after that race but remained at trainer Jason Servis’s Belmont Park barn.

“We backed off him, but he’s in training now,” Drazin said. “He’ll be shipping to Jason’s barn at Monmouth in the near future.”

Drazin said he would like Sunny Ridge to have a prep race either at Monmouth or in New York prior to the Haskell, but that a race had not been picked out.

Sunny Ridge has a 3-2-0 record from seven starts and earnings of $544,752.
