Whisper’s Sister closed from last to pull a 19-1 upset Sunday in the $110,000 Enchantress at Sunland Park. She rallied for a half-length victory over Quinton’s Doll Who, while it was another 1 1/2 lengths back in third to Capote’s Charm. The Enchantress, at a mile, was restricted to 2-year-old fillies bred in New Mexico. Whisper’s Sister ($40.60) raced about eight lengths off the pace as Quinton’s Doll Who led through an opening half-mile in 47.27 seconds and six furlongs in 1:12.99. Whisper’s Sister made a wide bid, and covered the distance on a fast track in 1:40.87. Kelsi Purcell rode the winner for Joe Milam and trainer Paul A. Smith. Whisper’s Sister earned $66,000 for the win, which was her first at two turns and first in a stakes race. She is a daughter of the Silver Ghost stallion Ghostly Moves.
