Sunday stakes roundup


* Dream of Angels rallied through the stretch to win his maiden in the $65,000 Middleground Breeders' Cup for 2-year-olds on closing day at Lone Star Park.

* Chris DeCarlo rode the favorites to dominant victories in both stakes at Monmouth Park: Park Avenue Ball in the $82,600 Skip Away, and Misty Rosette in the off-the-turf Crank It Up.

* Martins Point ($8.80), still a maiden after 14 starts but only 0 for 2 on turf, rallied six wide and drew clear of Swayin by 1 1/4 lengths in the $60,000 Punch Line at Colonial Downs.

* Red Ruffle ($10.20) set the pace under Abel Castellano Jr. and lasted by a half-length over American Miss in the $80,000 Nancy's Glitter Handicap at Calder.

* Stockholder got his first stakes win of the year in the $100,000 Omaha Stakes at Horsemen's Park and provided a weekend sweep for rider Brian Peck and trainer Scott Blasi, who also won the Queen's Handicap on Saturday.

* A. V. Flynn ($2.60) improved her career record to 2 for 2 with an easy victory in the $53,150 Solano County Juvenile Filly Stakes at the Solano County Fair.

* Chestnut Lady ($3.60) took command on the final turn and swept to a seven-length victory in the $65,000 Kent Handicap at Emerald Downs.
