Sunday stakes recaps (8/8/04)


* Fleeta Dif ($14.60) rallied from midpack for a neck victory over Queen of Mecca in the $40,000 Adena Springs Matchmaker Stakes at Remington Park. It was another half-length back in third to My Golden Tripp. Fleeta Dif covered the five furlongs over yielding turf in 57.72 seconds

* Oh So Easy ($3.20) overtook pacesetter Bubble Dourbon around the final turn and held on to win the $40,000 Ms. Southern Ohio at River Downs by 1 1/2 lengths. Glorado finished second, three lengths ahead of Bubble Dourbon in third. Oh So Easy was ridden by Ricardo Feliciano and is trained by Tim Hamm. Final time for 1 1/16 miles was 1:48.

* Anthonia ($38.80), ridden by Monique Dionne for trainer Denise Kennedy, split horses coming into the stretch and rallied for a half-length victory in the $58,000 Golden Horseshoe Stakes at Fort Erie. Kirlan was second, three-quarters of a length ahead of third-place Silks No Roses.

* Nitro Chip came from just off the pace to win the $54,400 A. L. "Red" Irwin at Louisiana Downs. Walk This Way was 4 1/4 lengths back in second, followed by Brandon's Marfa. Ridden by Donnie Meche and trained by Sam Breaux, Nitro Chip ($9) ran the seven furlongs in 1:23.53.
