Ring True wins the $60,000 Xtra Heat Stakes at Pimlico.

* Ring True ($4.20) grabbed a 3 1/2-length victory in the $60,000 Xtra Heat Stakes at Pimlico. She completed five furlongs in 58.13 seconds under apprentice Rosie Napravnik.

* Sharp Writer ($6.60) rallied from last, pulling away late to win the $41,700 Walnut Creek overnight stakes at Golden Gate Fields.

* Starbird Road stalked the pace of Salt Grinder to the stretch, then powered to the front and easily withstood the late charge of Spanish Highway to win the $40,000 Seattle Handicap at Emerald Downs.

* Ridden by Gerry Olguin, Summer Girlfriend ($11.60) upset 3-5 favorite Knights Templar in the $125,400 Star Shoot Stakes for 3-year-old fillies at Woodbine.

* Corre Caminos rumbled to an overpowering five-length victory in the first Group 1 race of the European season at Longchamp, taking the $385,000 Prix Ganay. He covered the 1 5/16 miles in 2:17.10 on good to soft ground.

* At Dusseldorf, Lolita landed the Group 2, $211,000 German 1000 Guineas by two lengths over Almerita. Lolita led throughout under Andreas Helfenbein, covering the mile on soft ground in 1:48.64.
