'Summer Wind' 5-2 in Del. 'Cap


Summer Wind Dancer, a 4-year-old filly who has raced exclusively in California, is the 5-2 morning line favorite for Sunday's Grade 2, $750,000 Delaware Handicap.

Trained by Jeff Mullins, Summer Wind Dancer drew post 9 in a field of 10 fillies and mares in the 1 1/4-mile stakes. Victor Espinoza will fly in from Southern California for the mount.

In her last start, Summer Wind Dancer won the Grade 3 Hawthorne Handicap, a 1 1/8-mile race at Hollywood Park on June 6.

Second choice on the morning line at 7-2 is Roar Emotion, a 4-year-old trained by Kiaran McLaughlin. She was most recently sixth in the Grade 2 Fleur de Lis Handicap at Churchill Downs and will be ridden by Jerry Bailey from post 5.

The remainder of the field in post position order with riders, is: Shiny Sheet, Jeremy Rose; Misty Sixes, Mario Pino; Go on Baby, Abel Castellano; Gelli, Ramon Dominguez; Cloakof Vagueness, Norberto Arroyo; Redoubled Miss, Dominguez named again; Firecard, no rider; and Savedbythelight, no rider.
