Sugar Bay ($14.30) landed her second straight stakes while making her first start on turf in the $182,800 Ontario Colleen at Woodbine. Sugar Bay rallied strongly from midpack and passed the leaders at the eighth pole before pulling away for a 4 1/4-length score over Fareena. Favored Lickey Lemon came on belatedly for third in the one-mile race for 3-year-old fillies, from which the morning-line favorite, Northern Kraze, was scratched. "She relaxed perfectly," said Jono Jones, who rode Sugar Bay for trainer Mac Benson. "When I asked her to make her move, it was a matter of how far she was going to win." Sugar Bay covered the distance in 1:34.44, and banked $120,000 for Augustin Stable.
