EAST BOSTON, Mass. - Mrscoppolaskitchen pulled off a $13.60 upset in last Saturday's Mom's Command Stakes, but it was Yacht to Pay For, who didn't even run in the race, who came away with the big prize.

Mrscoppolaskitchen, owned by the Green Spot Stable, came from just off the pace in the six-furlong Mom's Command and scored by a length under Dodie Duys.

In spite of her win in the Mom's Command, Mrscoppolaskitchen lost out on the local 2-year-old filly title when members of the New England Turf Writers Association gave the award to Yacht to Pay For, who defeated Mrscoppolaskitchen by 4 1/2 lengths in Rockingham's Concord Stakes.

Yacht to Pay For and the other New England champions will be honored at NETWA's annual dinner Nov. 19 at the Danversport Yacht Club.

Proceeds from the dinner will be donated to New York Heroes Fund through NTRA charities.

Suffolk will host the Daily Racing Form/NTRA Handicapping Contest on Nov. 10. The contest costs $2 to enter and bettors get a mythical $1,500 bankroll from which they have to make win bets on five of the local nine races. The top four finishers in the contest will each earn a berth in the DRF / NTRA Handicapping Championship at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas Jan. 25-26, 2002.
