Suave to stand at Darby Dan

Suave, the winner of the Grade 2 Washington Park Handicap this year, will be retired at the end of this year and will stand at Darby Dan Farm in Lexington, Ky., the farm announced Wednesday.

Suave, a 5-year-old son of A.P. Indy out of the Grade 1-winning mare Urbane, has 7 wins from 26 lifetime starts, including the Grade 2 Saratoga Breeders' Cup Handicap in 2005, and has $1.3 million in career earnings. In his most recent start, Suave encountered trouble and finished last in the Grade 1 Woodward Stakes at Saratoga on Saturday.
