ETOBICOKE, Ontario – The New York invader Strong Incentive made quite a splash Saturday at Woodbine in her first start on Polytrack, winning the $150,000 Jammed Lovely Stakes with ease under Alan Garcia.

Green Doctor was pressed by Peggy O during an opening quarter in 22.69 seconds in the seven-furlong sprint for Ontario-bred 3-year-old fillies. Green Doctor established a clear lead through a half in 45.15, while Strong Incentive stalked in third along the rail on the turn.

Strong Incentive took dead aim at Green Doctor at the head of the lane and hit the front nearing the eighth pole before drawing off for a 4 1/4-length score in 1:22.36.

Green Doctor finished a clear second over Peggy O. The favored Chic Thrill was a non-threatening fourth, and Secret Action trailed in fifth.

Assistant trainer Jason Desilets accompanied Strong Incentive to Woodbine.

“We brought her up here a few days before,” said Desilets. “She trained superior over the track. We had a good feeling that she’d run good today, and she did.”

Strong Incentive ($9) banked $90,000 in her stakes debut for the partnership of Klaravich Stable and William Lawrence.
