Mike Rogers, the president of The Stronach Group, has been elected to the Breeders’ Cup’s 14-seat board of directors, Breeders' Cup announced on Wednesday after tallying the results of voting for three open seats. Two current board members were re-elected, Breeders’ Cup said.

Rogers, the former manager of Frank Stronach’s Adena Springs Farm in Canada, has been president of The Stronach Group since 2012. In addition to numerous racing-related businesses, The Stronach Group, which is owned by the Stronach family, owns a handful of racetracks, including Santa Anita Park in Southern California.

Santa Anita will host the Breeders’ Cup event for the ninth time this year.

The board members who were re-elected were Fred W. Hertrich III, an owner and breeder, and Clem Murphy, a bloodstock consultant for Coolmore Farm.

All three will serve four-year terms. Votes for Breeders’ Cup directors are cast by the organization’s 44 members.
