Stream Cat best in Crown Royal

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Stream Cat, unraced since an eighth-place finish in last year's Breeders' Cup Juvenile on dirt, wore down favored Go Between in deep stretch to take Friday's Grade 3, $100,000 Crown Royal American Turf by one-half length.

Gaelic Storm finished third.

Stream Cat, who raced last of six for the first six furlongs, covered the 1 1-16 miles in 1:42.27 over a firm turf course and returned $10.20 to win. Stream Cat, a son of Black Minnaloushe, gave trainer Patrick Biancone and jockey Julien Leparoux their second stakes win of the day. They also won the Aegon Turf Sprint Handicap with Man of Illusion.

Stream Cat is now 2 for 2 on turf including a victory in the restricted With Anticipation Stakes as a maiden last summer at Saratoga. Stream Cat is a graded stakes winner on two surfaces, having won the Grade 3 Kentucky Cup Juvenile last September over Turfway Park's Polytrack.

Todd Pletcher, who won four races on the card, had his streak snapped as Tahoe Warrior, who set the early pace faded to fifth in the six-horse field.
