Strawbailey and Devout Sinner in Remington rematch

Strawbailey and Devout Sinner meet for the second time in the $30,000 Ricks Memorial at Remington Park in Oklahoma City.

The one-mile turf race for fillies and mares drew a field of 10, including the improving Western Delight, Turf Paradise shipper Jocko Miss, and Western Side.

The last time Strawbailey and Devout Sinner met, Strawbailey powered to a 1 1/2-length win over Devout Sinner in the $30,000 Carris Memorial at Remington on Aug. 11. Since that race, however, Devout Sinner has won an allowance race to bring her career record to 7 for 14 for owner-trainer Joan Charlton.

Strawbailey is 6 for 12, and figures to be closer to the pace than Devout Sinner in the Ricks. In her last start, Strawbailey settled in third early, then drew clear in the stretch in the Carris. R.D. Williams, who was aboard Strawbailey for the first time last out, has the return call for trainer Joe Offolter.

Cliff Berry will ride Devout Sinner, whose class showed in her last start when she raced on the pace throughout to win a Remington allowance by 2 1/4 lengths. In the Ricks, there should be a nice amount of speed for Devout Sinner to track as a few of her rivals are stretching out from sprints.
