Stormy Business draws clear

Stormy Business came from just off the pace, took command into the lane, and drew off to a four-length win over 6-5 favorite Tonight Rainbow in the $25,000 Tondi Stakes at Fonner Park.

Making his first start of the year, the Larry Donlin-trained Stormy Business covered the six furlongs over a sealed muddy track in an eye-catching 1:12.80, more than two seconds faster than any other time recorded on the 10-race card.

With R. D. Williams aboard, Stormy Business was a solid second choice in the field of nine and returned $5.20. The third-place finisher in both the Dowd Mile and Bosselman/Gus Fonner stakes last year, Stormy Business is expected to be a strong contender for both races again this year.

Pager, ridden by Dennis Collins, rallied to challenge outside the winner on the far turn but was no match while holding second, two lengths in front Tonight Rainbow and Chad Benjamin in third.
