Command Thunder defeated maiden special weight company here on May 11 in his only start of the season. Trained by Sylvester Oliverre, he will likely be the post-time favorite.

Classic Mountain will run for trainer Carl Anderson for the first time on Friday. He won his maiden here in his second and final start of 2006 and raced once at Stampede Park this year before returning to Assiniboia Downs.

Just Get There and Ecton's Gem were fourth and fifth at this level last time out.

Super Duper Me defeated maiden claimers in his debut last year before losing as the favorite in both the restricted North Dakota Stallion Stakes and CTHS Sales Stakes. He will be running for trainer Leonard Anderson for the first time.

Brinson takes quick lead

Trainer Clay Brinson posted an 8-3-2 record from 15 starters over the four days of racing here last week and has moved into the top spot on the local trainer standings with 10 wins.

Mel Davis is second with six wins, and eight trainers are tied for third with three victories each.

Jockey David Lopez rode seven of the eight Brinson winners and recorded eight victories in all last week to move into a tie atop the jockey standings with Alan Cuthbertson. Both riders have 10 wins.
