Fact Finding, a stakes winner and $500,000 juvenile buy, sold to Texas-based Bart Evans for $155,000 on Tuesday during the racing-age portion of the Keeneland November breeding stock sale in Lexington, Ky.

The 3-year-old colt by The Factor won his first three starts as a juvenile last year, culminating with the Smooth Air Stakes at Gulfstream Park. He came back to finish fifth in the Grade 3 Sam F. Davis Stakes at Tampa Bay Downs, then returned from a seven-month layoff to try the turf, finishing fourth in the Allied Forces Stakes and most recently the English Channel Stakes on Oct. 22 at Belmont.

“He started six times, he’s won three,” Evans said. “He was laid off for a little while, he came back, and was better after that layoff race. He just looked like a horse that if you spotted him around would be a useful horse.”

After selling to Ireland’s Tally Ho Stud for $100,000 at the 2015 Keeneland September yearling sale, Fact Finding was entered in last year’s Tattersalls Craven breeze-up sale, where he sold to the team of Coolmore and Stonestreet Stables for $524,606. He then returned to the U.S., and was placed in the barn of trainer Todd Pletcher.
