Email

MUSKEGON, Mich. - Charedi's Peak heads a field of eight entered in the $48,000-added Michigan Juvenile Fillies at Great Lakes Downs on Tuesday. The seven-furlong race is the first race on the card, which has a 5 p.m. eastern first post.

Divisional awards for the 2005 season will be presented after live racing on Tuesday.

Charedi's Peak was spectacular in her debut on Oct. 25, besting a field of maidens by 22 1/4 lengths and running six furlongs in 1:14.20. Jockey Freddie Mata offered slight encouragement to Charedi's Peak down the lane, just to keep her interest, trainer Ronnie Allen said. A bay filly, Charedi's Peak is by Pyramid Peak out of the Forty Niner mare Charedi's Gold. She will break from post 7.

Just to her inside will be Summer Cyclone, who was third, beaten less than two lengths, in the Michigan Sire Stakes. Regular rider Luis Martinez will ride Summer Cyclone for trainer James Jackson.

Also in the Juvenile Fillies are Hi Class Gift, Brick by Brick, Rockem S'more, Another Tale, Moll It Over, and Sixinthecity.
