Splash Hit wins Cajun Miss as Calhoun barn sweeps trifecta

Splash Hit and jockey Roberto Morales win the Cajun Miss Stakes by 2 3/4 lengths Friday night.

Splash Hit led a Bret Calhoun-trained trifecta in the $50,000 Cajun Miss on Friday night at Evangeline Downs. She won the meet's first stakes by 2 3/4 lengths over Kat's Infatuation, while it was another 1 3/4 lengths back to Shamrock Star in third. 

Calhoun had three starters in the 10-horse field. The Cajun Miss was a seven-furlong race for 3-year-old fillies. The 2-4-11 trifecta paid $46.10. 

Splash Hit ($19) was always prominent while covering the distance on a fast track in 1:24.53. Roberto Morales was aboard for owner Carl Moore. 

Splash Hit is a daughter of Flower Alley. She has now won three of four starts and $64,200. The Cajun Miss was the first stakes win for Splash Hit.
