Analysis:

TOTAL shows bullet gate work over the track, and goes out for rock-solid Midwest outfit. Gets aggressive rider in Bejarano, and should show some speed against this crew. Kin to three juvenile debut winners has nicely-balanced pedigree. THIS JUST IN raced on deeper outside paths in key race debut at Belmont, then made midrace move after poor start as Spa chalk. Jerkens means business when he adds Lasix to the equation. A WONDER SHE IS sold for 24 times the stud fee of her sire, and shows a couple of quick gate works for excellent debut barn. MY GOLDEN QUEST is a Pletcher-Velazquez production, but draws way outside. NOWORRIESFORME and HOMEFORTHEHOLIDAYS may be best played on bottom of exotics.

The Bet: Total to Win (2-1 odds or more).

Analysis:

STORMY SUCCESS is the first foal out of sprint-winning dam, and the sire gets a very high percentage of juvenile debut winners. Barn sent out a maiden winner earlier in the meet, and their colt shows some quick workouts for his debut. HUGE CITY must break in from also-eligible list, but has precocious pedigree, and hails from hot barn. DEFREREOFTHEHEART shows some intriguing workouts for his debut, and should be played in all multi-race wagers. CITY AVENGER is another also-eligible that shouldn't be discounted if he gets to play.

The Bet: Stormy Success to Win (2-1 odds or more).

Race 8
6 1/2 Furlongs
Saratoga Special Breeders' Cup Stakes (Grade 2)
2-year-olds
Purse $200,000.

Analysis:

TEUFLESBERG almost stole the Sanford in gate-to-wire fashion over the highly-regarded Scat Daddy before being run down in the shadow of the wire. He's still a maiden, but could be the speed of the speed in the Saratoga Special, and should be prominent when they swing into the stretch. SHERMANESQUE has rallying ability, and figures to get a solid pace to run at late. He's stuck down inside, however, and could get shuffled back going into the turn. KING OF THE ROXY earned big number at Hollywood before being privately purchased by Team Valor. Now with Pletcher, he has tactical speed, and looms a stalking danger while racing in the clear. FAST N READY needed drop to maiden claimers to break maiden, but showed strong affinity for this racecourse. CHACE CITY is as green as grass, but stakes-winner could be dangerous if he finally figures the game out.

The Bet: Teuflesberg - Shermanesque exacta
