Analysis:
LALIQUE goes out for barn that has already sent out a pair of juvenile debut winners at the meet.  There are plenty of classy grass influences in the female family, but Lalique shows some quick workouts leading up to her career debut, and that July 23 drill over the Belmont training track looks pretty intriguing.
CABLEKNIT was a reported vet scratch on August 13, but the $1.7M yearling purchase, a half-sister to sprint champion Speightstown, returned to work well over the synthetic course at Greentree for Kiaran McLaughlin.  With an alert break, she looms the one to beat, but will likely be hit pretty hard at the windows.
OMI'S VINDICATION boasts a classy pedigree, and trainer Dale Romans can certainly get one ready to fire first-out.  It's nice to see the quick three-furlong blowout right on top of the race.
SURE AS GOLD has picked up the pace in her recent workouts, and the dam is a half-sister to the extremely quick Randaroo, a 108 Beyer winner of the Grade 2 Shirley Jones Handicap at Gulfstream Park (also won first-out at two with a 94 Beyer by 10 1/4 lengths).
CAPE COD CARRIE didn't impress at long odds in her debut, and needs to improve for barn that hasn't sent out many live juveniles at the meet.  J Z'S REVENGE showed good early speed over closer-friendly main track in career debut, but tired badly when the real running began.  She should appreciate turning back in distance, and looms a pace factor once again.  ANNE MARGARET is by a precocious sire, but she may do better with a race under her belt.  QUEEN ANN may prefer turf down the road.

Selections:
1.  Lalique  2.  Cableknit  3.  Omi's Vindication

The Play:
Lalique to Win at 5-2 odds or greater

Analysis:
BECKY'S KITTEN should really appreciate switching to grass as his sire, Kitten's Joy, was a multiple Grade 1 winner on the green stuff.  The dam won on turf, and the second dam was a $250,000 yearling purchase by sod-loving Theatrical.  Wesley Ward has been trying to get his charge on the turf for a bit of time now, and Becky's Kitten can sit a nice tracking trip under Julien Leparoux.
PANIOLO goes out for crafty barn, and should offer some value in this heat.  Tom Bush sent out juvenile debut winner Shelterfromastorm at 18-1 odds in a maiden special weight going long on the grass here in 2005.
VAMOS A VER raced wide after breaking from far outside in career debut, and should improve with that race under his girth.  Expect him to show more speed and better focus with the addition of blinkers.
MINT MAKER's dam, Shawklit Mint, was a quick sprinter, earning a 105 Beyer speed Figure in the Grade 2 Vagrancy going 6 1/2 furlongs in the mud.  Gary Contessa has sent out some live juveniles at this meet, but it will be interesting to see how this colt handles the grass.
FOREVER AWESOME would likely contend for Todd Pletcher if this race is rained to the main track.  EL COMMODORE is eligible to show speed after two sprint tries.  Bill Mott does very well with this surface switch, and El Commodore may be the pacesetter after breaking from his advantageous inside post.  ULTERIOR MOTIVE boasts a solid pedigree, but the works fail to excite.  BIGSHOT goes out for barn that's been heating up at the meet.  He should appreciate the added distance, but has been away since the spring Keeneland meeting.  WOW WOW WOW didn't do much on dirt.  KING ROCK was bet hard for his debut, and rallied nicely despite being forced to chase dawdling fractions.  He is bred to like turf on the bottom of his pedigree, and isn't the worst longshot stab.
