Analysis:
J'BOY makes career debut for excellent barn, and shows a solid five-furlong workout here on August 3.  He draws a good inside post position, and may find a nice spot tracking the pace while saving valuable ground.  Chad Brown sent out eventual Breeders' Cup Juvenile Filly Turf winner Maram to a debut win going long on the grass at Saratoga in 2008.
BECKY'S KITTEN should show good speed stretching out to a route for the first time after chasing very fast fractions in a special weight sprint at Belmont.  By Kitten's Joy, a turf route-lover that has done good work with his initial crop of racers, Becky's Kitten shows names like Cozzene (dam sire) and Theatrical (second dam sire) in the pedigree.  He should take to turf like a duck to water, and this barn wins lots and lots of races.
STRAIGHT TALK rallied in his first start following a layoff line here 17 days ago, and can certainly move forward off that race.  He should get some pace to attack late, and seems like a nice fit to make some noise.
LUCKYLEAD pressed the fractions in a special weight heat here on August 5 before faltering in the lane.  He has yet to gain ground from the stretch call to the wire in any of his three lifetime starts, but should be close to the leaders while hugging the hedge.
GRAND RAPPORT's sire was a turf winner in Europe, but while the workouts look fast, they fail to really entice, and this barn has struggled in 2009 with debut runners.  SEQUOYA MOUNTAIN would likely factor if this race is washed off the grass.  Just check out his trainer's percentages with first-time starters.  LEMON MAMBO's dam has been a strong producer, and the son of Lemon Drop Kid makes debut for top turf barn.  He's bred to run all day, and wouldn't be much of a surprise.  FURIOUS RUN worked a quarter-mile in 20.4 prior to selling for $120,000 earlier this year so it's a bit of a surprise that he's being dangled for $75,000 in a turf route.  CYPRESS POINT goes out for excellent first-out barn with a couple of bullet works at Fair Hill.  WOW WOW WOW didn't do much on dirt 20 days ago, and must improve in order to reach the winner's circle.  TIGER WILLIE didn't break well in his dirt sprint debut, but take the worst of it from a post position standpoint.

Analysis:
IDOL IMAGE couldn't catch 7-10 favorite Trickle Trickle in career debut here 16 days ago, but he tried hard all the way to the wire, and seemed to gallop out with some verve.  Trainer Carlos Martin has much-better statistics with second-time starters than with debut runners so this son of the promising first-crop stallion Roman Ruler may improve enough to get his hoof raised.
D'BIGCAT showed high speed in his debut on Opening Day, but he tired badly when the real running began.  This barn is having a wonderful meet, and the drop in class should benefit this sprint-bred son of D'wildcat.  Expect him to be on the front end once again, and he looms the colt to catch and beat.
KIDSTRONG FEVER raced evenly in both tries at Monmouth Park, but drops in for a tag for the first time, and you have to respect these connections.
STEADY EDDIE's trainer, Dallas Stewart, is doing very well at the meet with his babies, but Steady Eddie needs to make up almost four lengths on D'bigcat.
ALWAYS MINE makes first start for a tag, and deservedly so.  He has yet to finish ahead of another horse in his short career.  DICKIE B was dull in his debut when more than 10 lengths behind Idol Image.  Now, he draws a tough inside post.  PRETTY DRINK and PAPERS TO PROVE IT are unveiled by trainer that excels in maiden claiming heats.  The works fail to entice. FORTY PRAYERS (Pletcher) and SHOW THE WAY J (Mott) go out for high-profile connections, but both show gaps on their respective work tabs.  RAPIDE ONE is bred for sprint and precocity, but the worktable doesn't reveal much.

Analysis:
KITTY IN A TIZZY goes out for trainer-jockey combination that put over two debut winners in 2008 (7-1 at Belmont, 10-1 at Aqueduct), and the $260,000 yearling shows a bullet gate workout over the Saratoga main track.  The Tiznow - Storm Cat breeding 'nick' has produced Folklore, the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies heroine of 2005.
WEAK DOLLAR POLICY makes debut for a barn that wins with an incredible percentage of juvenile debut runners, but she is stuck down in a tough inside post position.  The pedigree is geared to more distance, but this filly worked quickly at Ocala before selling for $120,000 earlier this year, and may have some gate zip.
HEAVENLY LANDING didn't do much in career debut over wet going at Churchill Downs, but showed drastic improvement in first start at the Spa.  She set fast splits before faltering in the final eighth of a mile.  Expect this filly to show good speed once more this afternoon.
TAKE A VOW didn't break well, and then raced wide over a track that seemed to favor inside runners in career debut at Belmont, but she wasn't flattered when the winner of that heat, Union Waters, came back to bomb as the chalk at Saratoga.
SIMPLY SPEIGHTFUL ran into a sharp field opening week at the Spa as the runner-up of that July 30 maiden heat, Awesome Maria, ran away and hid from a maiden group on Friday afternoon.  This barn does well with their youngsters so you can expect improvement from this corner.  MUHAAWARA sports a classy pedigree, but the workouts don't do much for me, and the McLaughlin juveniles, with the exception of Liston, have mostly underperformed at the meet.  NONNA MIA has been in serious training since mid-May, but may want a bit more distance to work with.  MINED OVER MATTER is by a sire that doesn't do very well with first-time starters, and trainer Nick Zito has also struggled with his debut performers in 2009.  BIRD BOX is bred for speed, but the workouts aren't exciting.
