Songandaprayer moving to Florida from Louisiana

Songandaprayer, a Grade 1 winner and two-time leading sire in Louisiana, has relocated to Journeyman Stallions in Ocala, Fla., for the 2018 breeding season and will stand for an advertised fee of $3,000.

The 20-year-old Unbridled’s Song horse previously resided at Copper Crowne in Opelousas, La., where he stood for $4,500 in 2017. Songandaprayer has sired 14 crops of racing age, with 651 winners and progeny earnings in excess of $49.3 million.

The stallion’s top runners include Chilean champion Genial Boy; Saudi Arabian champion Naafiae; Grade 2 winners Songster and What a Song; Grade/Group 3 winners Praying for Cash, Prudhoe Bay, Singanothersong, He’s Got Grit, Rapport, and Kentucky Wildcat; and Grade 1-placed Reveron.

Songandaprayer was Louisiana’s leading sire by progeny earnings in 2013 and 2014.

Bred in Kentucky by Donna Wormser, Songandaprayer is out of the winning Premiership mare Alizea, whose seven winners from nine runners also include Grade 3-placed stakes winner Lifeisawhirl, stakes winner Island Emperor, Japanese Group 3-placed F. One Nakayama, and Canadian stakes-placed Poetry Miss. English Group 2 winner Widaad is in the extended family.

Songandaprayer won three of eight starts for earnings of $380,480, highlighted by victories in the Grade 1 Fountain of Youth and listed Huntington stakes. He also finished second in the Grade 1 Blue Grass Stakes and third in the Grade 3 Jersey Shore Breeders’ Cup Handicap.
