Soldat to stand debut season for $5,000 at Woodford Thoroughbreds

Woodford Thoroughbreds in Reddick, Fla., has released the 2014 fees for its stallion roster, highlighted by a pair of new additions.

Grade 2 winner Soldat will stand his debut season for a fee of $5,000. The 5-year-old son of War Front finished his career with four wins in 12 career starts for earnings of $622,760, highlighted by wins in the Grade 2 Fountain of Youth Stakes on dirt and the Grade 3 With Anticipation Stakes on turf, as well as a runner-up effort in the 2010 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile.

Currency Swap, a Grade 1-winning son of High Cotton, will debut at a fee of $3,500. The four-year-old was a winner of four of 10 starts during his racing career for $459,300, with his biggest wins coming in the Grade 1 Hopeful Stakes and the Grade 2 Amsterdam Stakes.

All returning stallions on the Woodford Thoroughbreds roster will stand for the same fees as they did in 2013. The group includes Biondetti at $4,000; Repent at $3,000; and Crown of Thorns and Vineyard Haven at $2,000 each.
