Slight edge to Cave Creeker

Silent Candy won her most recent start, an entry-level Arlington turf allowance, by four lengths. Cave Creeker also raced in an entry-level Arlington turf allowance, finishing second. But the two fillies may have close to an equal chance of winning Thursday's featured eighth race, a first-level optional $62,500 claimer scheduled for one mile on turf.

Silent Candy was racing for a $62,500 claiming price when she scored her last-start victory, and trainer Christine Janks brings her back Thursday under the race's allowance condition. But in the recent win, Silent Candy competed in a race restricted to 3-year-olds, a seven-horse field that did not look impressive on paper or out on the racetrack.

Cave Creeker, on the other hand, has faced 10, 11, and 11 rivals in three Arlington starts this meet, all against older horses. She drops into a restricted 3-year-old race Thursday, and gets the narrow call over Silent Candy.
