Slides Choice out to extend streak

Slides Choice tries to keep her perfect 2009 record intact when she faces 11 other Ohio-bred 3-year-olds in the $50,000 Tomboy at River Downs. The 2008 Ohio-bred 2-year-old champion, Slides Choice won March 28 at Beulah Park in the Royal North by three-quarters of a length. Trained by Tim Hamm, Slides Choice came back May 2 to win the Tomboy prep here by 6 1/2 lengths. That event was scheduled for a mile on turf but was switched to the main track and run at a mile and 70 yards.

The Tomboy is scheduled to be run at 1 1/16 miles on the turf, but with storms in the area Thursday and predicted for Friday and Saturday, the chances of the Tomboy to be contested on the turf are slim.

Cesar Camaque retains the mount on Slides Choice.

Lipstick 'n Lace was very impressive in a May 2 maiden win here. Trained by Kris Nemann, Lipstick 'n Lace won by 9 3/4 lengths going away. Nathan Solomon will ride.

Tape Delay faces Ohio-breds for the first time. Trained by Heather Marino, Tape Delay won a maiden race March 19 at Mountaineer Park. In her next out, which came May 2, she was well beaten against open company in an entry-level allowance event. Yuri Yaranga will ride.
