Slew's Tiznow now in Lloyd's barn

Slew's Tiznow, a two-time stakes winner, has joined trainer Jamie Lloyd's stable.

The 4-year-old Slew's Tiznow has not started since finishing 10th of 11 in the Grade 2 New Orleans Handicap last March, his final start for trainer Doug O'Neill. Owned by Joseph LaCombe, Slew's Tiznow has won 3 of 9 starts and $256,870 and two minor stakes - the El Cajon Stakes and War Chant Stakes.

He was second in the Grade 1 Breeders' Futurity at Keeneland in 2007.

Lloyd said that Slew's Tiznow suffered from a bout of colic after the New Orleans Handicap. Slew's Tiznow has worked this month and will race later this winter, Lloyd said.

* The California Retirement Management Account, an organization that supports horse retirement charities, has distributed $264,000 to 12 charities, according to a statement released last weekend. In 2008, the first year of operation, the organization distributed $150,450 to eight charities. Funding comes from the horse owners who permit a .03 percent deduction of prize money earned from their starters.
