Skymeister splashes to win in Arcadia

BOSSIER CITY, La. - Skymeister took control entering the turn of Sunday's $50,000 Arcadia Stakes in a driving rainstorm and did not look back in winning by 3 3/4 lengths.

The Louisiana-bred 3-year-old son of Holzmeister covered the sloppy six furlongs in 1:11.43 with leading rider Lonnie Meche in the saddle. Brandon's Marfa splashed home second and Walk This Way picked up third money with a late rally from well back.

Owned by Sergei Hillery and Randy Robin, Skymeister ($8.00) remained perfect for trainer Al Stall, Jr., who took over the training chores on the winner just prior to an impressive maiden win here on May 20.
