LEXINGTON, Ky. – Sixty-one winning tickets, each worth $16,690 for $1, were sold Thursday at Keeneland on a pick 6 that drew more than $1.1 million in new handle.

Held on races 4 through 9, the pick 6 had not been won during the five prior racing days, leading to a carryover of $329,321 into Thursday.

Odds on the winning horses in the sequence were 7-2, 9-5, 2-1, 5-2, 9-1, and 3-1. The winning numbers were 2-7-6-2-4-3.

Consolation tickets (5 of 6) paid $98.70 each for $1. All numbers were covered going into the ninth and last race. Saratoga Syndicate (No. 9) was a late gate scratch, with all live tickets automatically transferred under Keeneland racing rules to the post-time favorite, Muzzy On the Move (No. 11), who finished far back at 9-5.

The Thursday handle of $1,145,677 is second-highest for a pick 6 in track history, trailing only the $1.3 million wagered on a single day at the 2008 spring meet. The highest pick 6 payoff at Keeneland was $317,439 on Blue Grass Stakes Day in April 2007.
