Six on top of Ocala work tab


Six juveniles posted 9.80-second workouts Wednesday at the second under-tack session for the Ocala Breeders' Sales Company's spring 2-year-old auction next week.

The under-tack preview for Hip Nos. 307-612 took place over the OBS facility's synthetic surface in Ocala, Fla.

The 2-year-olds who topped the eighth-mile work tab with 9.80-second breezes were Hip No. 402, a Stormy Atlantic-Seattle Stardust colt; Hip No. 482, an Indian Ocean-Stacie's Halo colt; Hip No. 491, a Posse-Starlit Lake filly; Hip No. 511, a City Zip-Stylish Manner colt; Hip No. 546, a Gibson County-Tanja colt; and Hip No. 610, a Sharp Humor-U Got the Touch filly.

Wednesday's fastest quarter-mile work was by Hip No. 612, a Freud-Unbridled Cyclone filly, who covered the distance in 20.40 seconds.

Two juveniles achieved the fastest three-eighths-mile works, going in 33 seconds. They were Hip No. 468, a Greatness-Southern Wave filly, and Hip No. 508, a Pico Central-Strawberrydaiquiri filly.

Hip No. 418, a Peace Rules-Shady Woman colt, also breezed a half-mile in 45.60 seconds.

The under-tack show was to continue through Friday. Hip Nos. 613-916 were to work Thursday and Hip Nos. 917-1221 were to breeze Friday. Each session was to begin at 8 a.m.

The auction takes place at OBS April 19-22, with sessions starting daily at 10:30 a.m.
