Six set to contest Who Doctor Who

LINCOLN, Neb. - Tate's Way will carry high weight of 123 pounds when he returns to action as the likely favorite in a field of six entered for the $22,500 Who Doctor Who Handicap at Lincoln.

The 1 1/16-mile event for older Nebraska-breds replaces the Nebraska Breeders' Sweepstakes Classic and is in its second year.

Tate's Way broke in the air but recovered strongly to capture the Big Red Mile Handicap here on June 29 by a widening 1 1/4 lengths. He has been in top form and appears likely to capture his fourth stakes win of the year in this spot. Tate's Way has scored wins in the Ogataul and Dowd Mile handicaps at Fonner Park in addition to his win here this year.

High Dice, the defending champion of the Who Doctor Who, shares second highweight status with King's Verse. High Dice was second to Tate's Way in the Big Red Mile, then ran third in the six-furlong President's Cup Handicap here on June 9.

King's Verse, trained by Hugh Robertson, switches back to the main track after a solid third-place finish against allowance-optional claiming company on the turf at Canterbury Park. King's Verse bid to be a length off the lead into the stretch of that race on June 9 but settled for third behind the talented Al's Dearly Bred.
