SirePowered Results: Freud

Freudie Anne led a superfecta sweep of the New York Stallion Series Statue of Liberty division for sire Freud.

Freud has been a dominant sire in New York for the better part of the last decade, and that dominance was clearly showcased in the Statue of Liberty division of the New York Stallion Series on Aug. 13 at Saratoga Race Course. The filly Freudie Anne led home a parade of finishers for the stallion, who swept the superfecta.

According to Daily Racing Form’s SirePowered Results, Freud, who stands at Sequel Stallions in Hudson, N.Y., is represented by three winners thus far at the state’s prestigious Saratoga meeting. Freudie Anne became the most prominent of those when she posted a Beyer Speed Figure of 83 in taking the Statue of Liberty.

The 3-year-old filly out of the Toccet mare Lake Toccet finished 1 1/4 lengths clear of Loon River, with Psychiatry and Amazing Anne rounding out the superfecta.

Freud’s other winners at Saratoga through the first half of the meeting were Pink Freud Live, who posted a Beyer of 73 while winning a maiden special weight race on the turf Aug. 9; and Wicked Freud, who won a maiden special weight race on Aug. 14 with a Beyer of 72.

Freud has finished first or second by earnings among New York stallions with state-sired runners in each of the last seven years, and is the state’s leading sire by turf earnings every year in that same period.
