SirePowered Results: Constellation shines for Bellamy Road

Debra Roma
Constellation wins a maiden race Aug. 9 at Saratoga for trainer Steve Asmussen.

The Saratoga meet is traditionally a coming-out party for juvenile stars of the East Coast.

WinStar Farm sire Bellamy Road came to that party in a big way, as DRF's SirePowered Results shows that he was represented by two maiden special weight winners at the historic track recently.

The most prominent of Bellamy Road's winners was Constellation, an $800,000 juvenile purchase earlier this year by LNJ Foxwoods. The filly made her anticipated debut Aug. 9 for Steve Asmussen and posted a sharp victory, earning a Beyer Speed Figure of 75. The filly is out of the Not For Love mare For Royalty.

Bellamy Road's other Saratoga maiden special weight winner was No Entiendo, a colt who earned a Beyer of 69 while winning Aug. 10.

Bellamy Road won 4 of his 7 career starts, highlighted by a 17 1/2-length romp in the Wood Memorial, in which he equaled the track record. His runners to date are highlighted by Canadian champion Sisterly Love and Grade 1 winner Toby's Corner.
