Although classic sire Uncle Mo didn’t have a starter in the Preakness Stakes, he had an outstanding Saturday at Pimlico anyway. His daughter Ultra Brat dominated the Grade 3 Gallorette Stakes by 10 1/4 lengths, and his son Uncle Mojo romped by 12 3/4 lengths in an allowance earlier in the day. It was the fourth stakes victory for Ultra Brat, and her second graded score of the season following her win in the Grade 3 Marshua’s River in January at Gulfstream. She earned a career-best Beyer Speed Figure of 100 for the Gallorette, contested on the soft Pimlico turf course. She became Uncle Mo’s first runner of the season to break the triple-digit Beyer mark. According to Daily Racing Form’s exclusive sire list, nine of his individuals have surpassed the benchmark figure of 90. That group now includes Uncle Mojo, who also earned a career-best Beyer, 91, for his allowance score on the sloppy main track. Elsewhere over the weekend, Uncle Mo’s daughter Miss Mo Mentum won the Grade 3 Selene Stakes on Saturday at Woodbine; Uncle Billy won an allowance race on Friday at Charles Town; and Dr. Hipp won a maiden at Monmouth on Sunday.
