Sippin remains undefeated by scoring in Enchantress

Sippin remained undefeated in seven career starts on Sunday, when she won her two-turn debut in the $85,000 Enchantress at Sunland Park. She darted home by 2 1/2 lengths over Pink Cadillac.

The Enchantress was a one-mile race restricted to 3-year-old fillies bred in New Mexico.

Sippin ($2.40) set fractions of 24.54 seconds for the opening quarter-mile, 49.43 for the half-mile, and 1:15.62 for six furlongs. She went on to cover the distance on a track rated fast in 1:40.83.

Tracy Hebert was aboard for trainer Todd Fincher.

R.D. Hubbard bred and owns Sippin, a daughter of Swissle Stick. She earned $51,000 on Sunday to push her career earnings to $319,047. Sippin was winning her fifth straight stakes race in the Enchantress. She won the first race of her career in July 2016, in a maiden special weight at Ruidoso Downs.
